The Malaysian Association of Creativity & Innovation (MACRI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and championing Creativity and Innovation. It was established by people passionate about the spirit of Creativity and determined to nurture the culture of Innovation. Simply put, MACRI is driven by a network of creative thinkers and innovators, bonded by a common aspiration.
Established on 3rd April 2007, MACRI is led by the nation's foremost proponent of Creativity and Innovation - Founder/President, Dato' Ghazi Sheikh Ramli. He has earned the reputation as an Innovation Evangelist, for being vocal about Innovation and actively advocating the nation's shift towards an Innovation-led economy.
MACRI believes that Innovation starts from simple ideas. Creativity is hardly the exclusive domain of artists and designers, nor is Innovation meant only for scientists and researchers. We are convinced that that each and every individual is creative, or has the potential to be creative, given the right encouragement and training. We recognize that simple ideas too can have a great impact. Hence we adopted 'Empowering Simple Ideas' as our tagline to reflect the path to an Innovative society. Simple ideas and initiatives through a concerted effort will be able to germinate a greater pool of Innovations. This is the cornerstone of MACRI's aspiration.
Since its inception MACRI has played an active role in propagating the culture of Innovation by motivating, challenging and tapping the Creative potential of all strata of the society. We have reached out to thousands to convince them of the relevance and importance of Creativity and Innovation. We have conducted numerous forums, workshops, etc. to inspire and create greater interest in Creativity and Innovation. Our target ranges from corporate executives to youths, from women to even people with disabilities.
MACRI's strength comes from the rapport that we have established with many other relevant organizations, including major institutions of higher learning and key government agencies, that are stakeholders in the national Innovation movement. We have forged a close working relationship especially with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. This puts us in the strategic position of being a recognized activist and catalyst in the growing Innovation momentum.
In addition, MACRI also draws considerable strength from within its membership. The Association is blessed with diverse internal resources ranging from speakers to coaches, from consultants to trainers. We are also proud of many of our members who are accomplished Innovators and inventors. Hence, MACRI is able to provide much needed expertise and assistance to any individuals or organizations that would like to embark on the journey to Creativity & Innovation
