Creativity & Innovation Week was launched on 15 April 09 at the National Science Center by Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) YB Tuan Hj Fadilah Yusof. Over 100 guests – officials from MOSTI and FRIM, our partners and members of MACRI - were present to witness this event.

Mr. Ooi Seng Chye serves as a Sub-committee member for the Macri Innovator Affair. He hailed from Penang and has spend much of his time working as a Purchasing Manager at Wong Engineering Bhd a company listed on the KL stock exchange. Ooi has then moved to the capital Kuala Lumpur about 3 years ago to try new things.

YOU may think you have stepped into an antique store when you visit Datuk Ghazi Sheikh Ramli at his office in Shah Alam.
There are about 300 items in the room, including village tools, old electronic appliances and telephones. But they're not for sale. They form a learning laboratory to show how innovation has influenced the development of products today.
MACRI Forges Ties with KLMCC
It is said that in an economic downturn there will be an innovation upturn. Against this background, a significant Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the MACRI and Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce (KLMCC) on 5 February 2009 in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam. In his key note address, the President of KLMCC Dato’ Syed Amin Aljeffri highlighted the fact that Malaysia is blessed with a huge potential for innovation arising from its cultural and racial diversity.

Cradle Makes Technopreneurs Happier

KUALA LUMPUR: Budding inventors and technopreneurs in the country will now be better able to improve on their creations, thanks to a revamped Cradle Investment Programme (CIP). CIP is a pre-seed funding scheme managed by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd.
The programme - now called CIP Catalyst - allows innovative individuals to apply and receive conditional grants of up to RM150,000, which will be disbursed in three tranches.
Cradle Fund did not say how much funds in total it has earmarked for the programme.
