Brief History of MACRI

It all started with a simple idea. An idea to create a platform for innovators to share their creative thoughts, to propel innovations to greater heights and help inspire the development of innovative ideas on a grand scale.

On 23rd September 2006, Dato Ghazi Sheik Ramli, with the backing of a group of accomplished innovators organized a gathering that was attended by about 20 enthusiastic innovators.

Dato Ghazi stressed on the importance of creativity and innovation to the economy, and the need to accelerate the propagation of creativeness at all levels of the society.

The innovators were all excited and unanimously motioned the creation of an association dedicated to the cause of creativity and innovation.

Henceforth the Malaysian Association of Creativity and Innovation, MACRI was conceptualized and registered with the Registrar of Society.

On 3 April 2007 MACRI received its official registration from the Registrar of Society. On 27 April 2007 MACRI’s inaugural Annual General Meeting was held and a full fledged Executive Committee is now geared to embark on the mission of inculcating the culture of innovation.
