I am pleased to inform you that once again we have been invited to support the National Intellectual Property Day by showcasing the innovations and IP assets of our Members. MACRI has been allocated a sizeable pavilion to showcase innovations of our members and also to promote the spirit of creativity & innovations. The exhibition this year will be held from 23 to 26 April 2009 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

This talk will focus on BT’s vision and drives towards BT’s open innovation strategy. Recognizing the importance of innovative services for BT’s customers, a massive amount of BT’s raw Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and innovation is generated directly by its world-class research and venturing.

Dr. Hiew will expound on MSC Malaysia – British Telecom Digital Lifestyle Programme, a smart partnership between MDeC and British Telecom in bringing the open innovation concept to Malaysian SMEs. The Programme is probably the first of its kind in Malaysia, and sees BT working in collaboration with Malaysian ICT-based small and medium sized enterprises (SME) to create and develop new broadband-based products and services, aimed at generating new-wave revenues.
